East River Ministries

Restoring the Land and the People to Israel

East River is a ministry whose purpose is twofold:  to bless the people and the nation of Israel according to Gen. 12:3: "I will bless those who bless you",  and to help others, particularly the church, to understand why we should place Israel and the Jewish people as our top priority.  We also want to help the church to understand our Jewish roots and how we have been grafted into the Olive Tree, according to Romans 11:17.  We take seriously the mandate in Psalm 122:6 which says, "Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem"!

East River was given it's name based on Ezekiel 47, where the river of God is described as flowing out from the South side of the temple towards the East, because the temple faces East.  Ezekiel 47:9 says that "everything will live where the river goes." We believe that there is a spiritual river of life that flows symbolically and prophetically, all the way back to the land of Israel, through our prayers and our outreach.

We stand in strong support of the nation of Israel and their right to exist on the land that God gave them. This is in direct opposition to current literature and resolutions that are in place at the present time within some of the mainline denominations. We hope that through our prayers and actions, we will be able to turn this tide that is against Israel. This is what is spoken of in Chapter 4 of the book of Malachi, turning the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers. We have much to learn from our Jewish forefathers.

We are a growing group of people that God has called to bless Israel in several ways. First and foremost is prayer and intercession for the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. We believe we are called to be watchmen on the walls for God's people and for Jerusalem. (Is. 62) This is the foundation of everything we do, believing the God reveals to us through prayer the specific ways He desires to bless His people.

We believe that all things are going back to Jerusalem, and that Jerusalem is the only throne of the Lord, in the natural sense (Jer. 3:17), just as our hearts are His throne in the spiritual sense. We believe that everything God does in the natural with Israel, Jerusalem and the Jewish people, He is doing in a spiritual way with the Church. We believe that eventually we will all be "one new man" through Yeshua the Messiah. (Eph. 2:14-15) We have a prayer team, as well as many wonderful prayer warriors and partners who pray with us for the people and the land of Israel. We also have anointed teachers, and interpretive dancers, who share the message of loving and blessing Israel.
